The London house that former Supreme Allied Commander and President Dwight D. Eisenhower called home in the crucial months before D-Day rolled out.
The original Telegraph House, where Eisenhower secretly lived from 1942 to 1945, was tragically consumed by fire in 1987. However, five detached houses were subsequently built in its place on the 4.7-acre gated site, including Telegraph House, which is now listed for $11.78 million.
“During World War II, the original Telegraph House offered Eisenhower a peaceful retreat, offering him respite amid some of the most critical moments in history,” said Shaun Drummond, residential director at Harrods Estates, which holds more than 12,400. – list of square meters.Â
D-Day, which liberated Western Europe from Nazi rule, reached its 80th anniversary in June.
When Eisenhower lived there, his headquarters were secretly located nearby in Bushy Park, and few knew that the General lived nearby.

Eisenhower’s driver, Kay Summersby, and his aide, Commander Harry Butcher, were also aware of Cottage’s coordinates.
The neo-Georgian residence features seven bedroom suites, eight bathrooms, four reception rooms, an orangery, a double-height lounge, staff quarters and a 35-metre indoor swimming pool. There is also a lift, home cinema, gym, garage space for three cars and air conditioning throughout.
There are south and west facing gardens, and a spacious kitchen equipped with Gaggenau and Wolf Sub-Zero appliances.Â
“The Telegraph House is a remarkable property, not only for its abundant modern amenities, but also for its deep historical significance,” added Drummond.
